Struggle??????
I have read the following in a site: "That which we obtain too easily, we esteem too lightly. It is dearness only which gives everything its value." Do we value only what we struggle for?

- I dont know about ya'll but I dont. I know this sounds cliche, but I honestly like the simple things in life.
- i really think so :))) that which you work so hard for you know what its worth :) its like how you only know the value of money after you start working : )
- we have a tendency to take things for granted. If we live by the woods, we forget to take time out and explore the woods in our backyard. If we live on a lake, we forget to swim in it and may opt for using someone else's pool instead. If we're given something as a gift, we may not like it and therefore not value it as something given to us by a loved one. If we buy something with money we already have, we may set it aside a little while later and have our love for it diminish. If we see something in a store we can't afford however, we save up for it while going back to look at it and make sure it's what we really want to have. We may value it just that much more, when it's out of reach and we have to strive for it.
- Freedom is the recognition that no single person, no single authority or government has a monopoly on truth, but that every one of us put in this world has been put here for a reason and has something to offer.
- no we actually value what we lose over the years ...
- No. I value lots of things. Not everything I had 2 struggle 4. Some things U may struggle 4 along time, and by the time you get it, U don't care anymore, or don't want it anymore. Some things U value that just came your way 4 U 2 enjoy.
- No, we do not tend to only value that which we struggle for. If someone was to give you a very thoughtful gift (say, something you really like), you would not only enjoy the gift but value your relationship with that person. No struggle involved. On the other hand, you could go out-of-your-way to spark a relationship with someone yet, once accomplished, not value them so highly at all. It depends more on the individual. You shouldn't ask if everyone else agrees with that quote but if you agree.
